Chartered Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor
Eszter Csukas BSc HCPC MCSP
I am a physiotherapist and functional training instructor with 20 years of experience treating patients with musculoskeletal problems. I opened my practice in Bristol in 2013, focusing mainly on spinal, joint and muscle injuries. I encourage my clients to take an active role in restoring and improving their health and well-being. My treatment portfolio includes The McKenzie Method® – Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy®, which is based on these very principles.
I am also a qualified Pilates instructor trained by the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, and a bodyART™ instructor. I have amassed extensive experience teaching functional fitness and rehabilitation classes to a diverse range of clients including athletes, children and seniors.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a science-based profession that takes a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Whether you are experiencing a persistent ache in your back or a recent acute and intense pain in one of your joints as a result of an unexpected trauma, physiotherapy can help you to improve quicker and to get back on your feet as soon as possible. My aim is to find and treat the root cause of your symptoms to reduce your pain, to restore your movements and function and to prevent reoccurrence in the future.
Your one hour long initial assessment will involve taking a detailed history of your current injury, previous conditions and a thorough physical examination. Based on the results, we will discuss the diagnosis and formulate your tailor-made treatment and exercise plan according to your goals. You will also receive your first hands on treatment and comprehensive advice to help you better manage your condition.
Your follow-up appointments may include various mobilization, massage and soft tissue techniques as well as an update of your individualized exercise program for you to practice at home.
Pilates
Pilates is a low-impact full-body functional workout program to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, posture and balance. These goals are achieved by precise and controlled exercises that require you to maintain the correct form throughout the class. With regular practice you build solid foundations for other forms of sport and exercise, improve your body awareness and make your movements more efficient.
You are welcome to try our workouts anytime. We have a library of free exercise videos on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/CoreAndBalance. We also offer weekly full length online classes. To receive a video each week, please contact us.
