Bristol Acupuncture Practice
Al completed 4 years training in acupuncture, qualifying in 2003. He studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading, and International College of Oriental Medicine, East Grinstead. He is married to Deb, who he met at College.
Al was the acupuncturist to NHS, Social Services and Education Department employees in Swindon, and at the Terence Higgins’s Trust in Bristol. As well as working at the Parker Clinic, he also practices at the Centre for Whole Health in Bedminster. He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), which carries with it strict codes of ethics and professional conduct. In addition, Al is also a qualified Social Worker, experienced in Mental Health Work.
Drawing on his mental health experience, Al has a special interest in helping people suffering from tension and inability to relax.
A first consultation lasts one and a half hours and includes taking a confidential, full medical history followed by a treatment. Needles are usually left in for up to 20 minutes. Subsequent treatments are an hour long. Dietary and life-style advise is given where appropriate.
Deb and Al adhere to the strict health and safety codes of their professional body. Disposable needles are used.
